Clean Power Markets, Inc. provides the infrastructure at the wholesale level for the renewable power market to accurately track and verify green power transactions for:
- compliance with renewable portfolio standards
- green (or renewable) energy trades in regulated and deregulated electricity markets
- electricity disclosure requirements by states, regions, or green-e
- emissions trading programs
The success of the green power market depends on the integrity of the products. When product differentiation is attempted with a commodity like electricity, the consumer needs information to have assurance that the extra "value" has been received from the extra dollar paid.
With renewable energy or green certificates, verification is absolutely necessary. This is what Clean Power Markets does - we provide the tracking and verification that the green certificates someone is buying are legitimate, and that no one else is making claims to those certificates. We do this by tracking the renewable generation at the source, issuing the renewable certificates, and following the certiicates through every transaction thereafter, until the certificate is retired. We do this through easy-to use web-based systems that our account holders (renewable generators, utility companies, energy service providers, and green power brokers) use to track the green certificates they are buying or selling.
